2026 THEME: A NEW WORLD ORDER?

    2026 Annual Meeting

The 2026 Annual Meeting of the Association will be held in Spokane, WA, from Friday, November 6 through Saturday, November 7, at the Historic Davenport Hotel.

We have negotiated a special rate of $179 a night (plus tax) with the hotel. To book a room at the group rate, please visit the PNWPSA group rate page. Please note that due to a glitch in the booking system, the destination fee may show up as $20 per day. That number should be $10 per day, and is the rate that you will be charged for that fee.

    To submit a proposal:

Please submit your proposal directly to the appropriate section chair.

Poster proposals from undergraduates are also welcomed with the expectation that a sponsoring faculty member is in attendance at the conference. Poster proposals are not limited to undergraduates.

    Conference theme:

Around the world, democratic backsliding, an increasingly interventionist US foreign policy approach, and other factors impact social, economic, and political rifts. We encourage (but do not require) papers and panels focusing on divisions broadly defined for our themed conference.

The conference will feature themed roundtables, including our traditional issues in the Pacific Northwest, the Supreme Court, in addition to our Friday lunch with a speaker, and a Friday reception. We hope to see you in Portland for two full days of excellent presentations, roundtables, and engagement with political scientists across the region!

    Questions?

If you have any questions, contact Richard Elgar or the PNWPSA President Season Hoard.

We look forward to seeing you as we return to Portland!
